My Mind is totally leaving...

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Ok, for all my blog fans, No I didn't die! I have been quietly losing my mind over the past month.

On the Dance Studio front, we have had little costume thieves stealing the costumes from the warehouses, so we haven't received them in time for the recital which is next weekend. I'm just wondering, can you fully comprehend how many parents can yell at you in one day? I am considering a good pair of ear plugs, and a nice smile when someone comes to the counter this week! We have about 100 coustumes not here, and while Ginny talks to the companies, I am dealing with the angry, rude parents. I could not resist the other night, and told the mom who told me she wouldn't register her child for summer classes until I gave her the recital costume that if she chose not to register, than I wouldn't save a spot in the summer classes. I think she thought that I really had the costumes, but wouldn't hand them out. What a joke!! Why would anyone do that to themselves?

Yesterday, I spent most of the day trying to make the recital program work. My hero, Dad couldn't figure it out (not really his fault, he was at work), and my second hero, Caleb (who didn't answer his phone), and my third hero Russell, who finally after several hours working with Shyla managed to fix the thing. Go Russ and Shyla! Now it is happily at KINKOS (yes, Shyla, I went without you.) and they are printing the thing....it better be right is all I have to say! Now Ginny and I just have to figure out how to print the cover at her house.....that will be another adventure I am sure. Then we just have to fold and staple 1500 copies together.....I hope the little staple goblins don't come to visit...I really need 1500 staples times 2! If the goblins show up, who knows if there will be any left. Come to think of it, are there even that many staples in a box?

On the wedding front:

Shyla and Russ were here, and now they are gone....so why is the wedding still all over the dining room table??? Just how do the Bride and Groom get to leave, and Mom turns back into a one woman show? Dad is trying to pick up some slack, and doing a great job with cutting the card cake holes, and cropping pictures, but I must admit his sewing skills are sadly lacking. Maybe he could just use hot glue! Cooper and Cymbre are in charge of opening and recording RSVP cards, and just wait to pounce the mailbox each day....boy did Monday create a ruckus without mail delivery!

Today, we are working on the temple dress jacket (it really does need those sleeves)cutting out baby dresses (although naked babies are sometimes cute), and painting the borders on the card cake. We are also working on making a space in the freezer for the chocolates, which the Bride and Groom made while they were here. Anyone for french fries? What about some fish? Or some frozen peas?

Also on the agenda, that is if I have time to make one, is going to the dance store and getting two dancers new jazz shoes. It seems that their little toes are are curling under because they are at the end of the shoes....why do toes always have to curl under just a week or so before recital? Can't they wait until a new dance season starts? And why do those dumb shoes that don't really have a sole have to cost to much? These are important questions that I think my three heros should really find the answers too.

On the home front: Who knows what's going on....Dad is handling EVERYTHING!!! GO DAD!! However, my ironing isn't getting done, but the bathroom looks really great. I think Dad is prejudiced against my clothes! He does selective folding also....but I am grateful for all his help. He keeps me going with backrubs and kisses! Love those kisses! No I am NOT sharing!

Well, there's Ginny on the phone, and she has stuff I need, so I guess I better finish this nonsense and go accomplish something this morning. You see, I have to do this before the tiny, thin, shredding thread of my mind is completely gone. The pressure of holding this thread of sanity together is just mind boggling...don't know how much longer the little man in my head can reach and hold both ends of the fragile thread. I think I need a NAP!!

Ya'll have a great day, and maybe a few prayers for Mom would help.

Love you.

What Luck?

Monday, April 23, 2007

My Luck still hasn't changed....

The combination lock on the back door has died, not even new batteries will revive the dumb thing! So anyone coming and going needs to remember to take their house key until Dad can get home from his wanderings and figure out how to fix the thing or replace it.

Speaking of Dad and his wanderings....he is probably going to have to stay gone longer in order to go to a meeting for a man who has a seriously broken arm. I guess at least he is being compassionate, but I could really use him to come home!

At church yesterday, they dumped the Meetinghouse Librarian job on me....GREAT!!! I hadn't figured out ward librarian, and now I am in charge of the meetinghouse too! That means I am responsible for everything in the library and all the librarians in both wards. Just what I need in the middle of a wedding. Russ says 61 days and counting...at least if the website is counting correctly...I think he may be rushing it just a bit! A little birdy told me Russ is excited! Hope I get these dresses done.

Cymbre is home sick today....just the sniffles, but I just didn't have the energy to make her go to school....besides she just lays on the couch watching Disney, so she isn't much trouble.

OK, is there any good news?

Yes, the polka dot fabric is here. Now I just have to make it up into everything....going to start with Baby dresses.

Shyla has the wedding dress and veil after some tribulation, but I managed to get the store straightened out....thank goodness. She will be home this week, and then the excitement really begins!

Well, the muggy stuff is back in Houston, so I don't even think I will take time to do my hair today....won't stay curled anyway. Just a bit of hairspray will be good enough for the errands, and then I will curl it before going to the studio tonight.

Have a great day....

Enough Already!!

Sunday, April 15, 2007

You can sure tell that Dad is out of town! No sooner did he leave, than the van wouldn't start properly, and I lost a crown on my tooth. Of course, just as we were walking out the door to competition. So, I had to stop and call the dentist who of course is out of town at some dental convention, and wait for him to call me back. So for the entire weekend, I have been holding my crown on with vaseline petroleum jelly, and eating on just one side of my mouth!! Tremendous!!

Dad made me map to get to competition, but I still managed to get lost, and then on the way home, they closed the highway, so I still ended up managing on my own! Today, Cooper is on the couch dizzy, so who knows how the next two weeks will go.

Dad made it to Capri, Italy, but his suitcase didn't. He is there with the clothes on his back, and not a lot of hope of getting his bag where he is. It seems that there is not an airport on the island, so everything has to come by boat, than by tram up the mountain, and bus to where Dad is. By the time his underware catches up with him, he may be in Norway! He isn't happy and neither was the other man traveling with Dad.

Sister Brown got some shocking news last weekend while I was in Provo. Her 4 year old has liver cancer. His liver is twice the size it should be, and the tumor is as big as his liver should be. They have to do chemotherapy to shrink the tumor before they can remove it. Liver cancer is very dangerous, and the chemo could cause his kidneys to fail, or make him deaf. Neither are great options, but the alternative is worse. She has asked me to go and sit with her while they do his first chemo this next Friday. Now just what do you say to your friend who is sitting there watching them poison her son? When I took dinner over there on Friday, she just clung to me and just sobbed! Friday is going to be a VERY STRESSFUL DAY! Who knows what will happen, Dad is still going to be out of town.

Monday, April 16. 2007

Sorry, I went to bed...but I am back now. Just talked to Dad, he said they really can't find his luggage. He went to buy some clothes, but didn't have much luck...did get some underware and a shirt. The other guy doesn't have his luggage yet either. If it doesn't catch up with him before he leaves Italy, he probably won't get it for the entire two weeks....he is not happy.

Must get ready for work....more later

The punches just keep coming.....today Cymbre lost her retainer at school so the orthodontist has to make a new one. It's because the teacher refused to allow her to keep her box on her desk during the TAKS test. WHAT A STUPID EXCUSE!! So because the routine wasn't the same, the retainer ended up on a napkin at lunch and got thrown away. That teacher knew I was mad, so did the principal, and thankfully the orthodontist is making her a new one for a reduced fee.

Then I tried to get Dad on the phone in Italy, but he didn't leave the right number, and no name for his hotel. GREAT!!

Get to the dentist to have my crown reglued, and they tell me they think they have to redo the thing. However, when the dentist examined it, he decided it would be ok for a while so they just reglued me. He said it probably won't be long and it will have to be replaced.

And Dad is going to be gone another week and a half!!! I may not survive this trip! I am thinking he needs to take his big black cloud with him. I'm having worse luck than he is right now....I can hardly wait for tomorrow!

On Friday I have to go sit with Sister Brown while her 4 yr old gets his first chemo....I'm so lucky don't you think?

I have no energy to write something funny....I am just taking my high blood pressure, and my cough and going to bed.

Love you.

Another Wedding

Monday, April 9, 2007

Well, after being in Provo planning a wedding with the Bride and Groom To Be, I came home and went to bed. Alseep by 8:45 - 9:00pm and awake again at 6:30am. See what you kids do to your mother! And, my cough is back! :( I got a bit of a rest from it in Provo, but it is back. BUMMER!!

Well, we went to the Bridal shop in Provo, and after looking through the racks of dresses, we chose 7 to try on. We got a consultant, and then started the process of dressing the Bride. Did you know that you have to have about 7 layers under a wedding dress? Boy things have changed since I got married. Those dresses sometimes have a mind of their own poufing out wherever they want to pouf, and dragging the floor. I decided that Shyla needs some little tiny people under her dress to pouf her everytime she moves. Maybe we could hire Thumbelina! And petticoats have a mind of their own, you just get them all straight, and then you have to crawl back under the dress and fight the tulle wars all over again....and speaking of tulle wars...I thought I was done with those for a while, but rumor has it that a certain mother of the bride was seen in several fabric stores buying some more of the stuff. What has possessed me???

Several spools of thread report that pink polka-dots are also on the shopping list, and will hopefully be on the shipping list soon. Special orders relayed that the JoAnn delivery truck will shortly be delivering several bolts of pink polka-dot fabric to the store. Now if those little computers could just come up with some chocolate tulle, this mother of the bride might actually be able to stay home and get started on altering some dresses, and making some others.

The ribbon rack at Hobby Lobby is a little slimmer tonight. Several spools of pink gingham ribbon called this editor to report that some crazy person is buying all the pink and brown with polka-dot ribbon on the shelf. It seems this woman was seen balancing 4 boxes of silk rose petals and about 8 spools of ribbon. What was really funny, states the ribbon rack, was when the woman dropped one spool of ribbon and then bent down to pick it up, and then all the spools went rolling away and the rose petals spilt all over the floor! THAT WAS JUST SO MUCH FUN!

Cake knives located on the top shelf tell us that it was pretty funny to watch the mother round up all the spools of ribbon and stuff them in her purse. Where are the security guards when you need them? Why didn't she get a shopping cart to begin with? That's the burning question in our minds. However, once rounded up and piled neatly, the woman walked to the check out stand, where a young man who didn't know what he was doing checked her out. When he was done, the woman told him he had given her everything for 50% off, but was only supposed to do the ribbon half off. He didn't seem impressed, but just kept bagging everything. So, the woman went home only paying 50% of everything she bought. Guess we can afford those rose petals after all!

Cooper and Cymbre are celebrating tonight because they get to dance their solos adjunicated on Saturday, but still qualify for the overall awards on Sunday. Guess the Hall of Fame people really do understand about Mormons. We just found out tonight. GREAT! Just what I want to do, sit at the competition all day and night! Should get some great pictures though.

It was fun meeting our new son-in-law to be over the past few days. He is very tall, but you can see that he loves Shyla. We had a great time getting things done for the wedding, and we even tried to get into the jewelry store after it was closed. Thank goodness, no one called the police on us! I must admit, Russ looks pretty good in that tux he rented, but Dad still gets my vote. Sorry Shyla, mines better!

Speaking of Dad, I think I will go to bed...:)!

Those of you who still have homework to do...get on it! Just a few more days, then you get a break. Those of you who belong to me, remember that Dad and I love you. (That means Russ and Holly too!)

Good luck on those finals, and remember to talk to your Heavenly Father.

Love you.

Mom

PS. Russ--take care of that daughter of mine...make sure she eats and gets enough sleep. The days are going to be really busy soon. And remember, she is one of my most prized possessions.

What Ironing Pile?

Sunday, April 1, 2007

We have enjoyed listening to the General Conference, and especially the talks given by the Prophet. He still has his sense of humor even though he is very old.

Around the old homestead (yes, we have homestead papers on file) things have been rollin' along but not quite as usual. Ya'll come see us soon!

Saturday we took the little tappers in our family to the Dance Competition. Another all day experience, but a good one for Cooper. Her ensemble girls decided that because Cooper doesn't dance on Sunday, they would all come and dance adjunicated on Saturday. That meant they all had to come in at a special time, and dance only for category awards. They could not compete for the overall awards. However, it was nice for Cooper that they supported her in that manner. They took home a platinum, so I guess Heavenly Father supported her too. Cooper also was the understudy for her friend who broke her foot. She learned the dance in 8 minutes at one rehearsal, and then competed on Saturday. As we sat there watching her, Dad said, "That kid needs to quit school and just dance!" She has unbelieveable talent in dance. What a blessing she is to the family.

Cymbre on the other hand did not get to dance any of her dances this time. Oh well, she played with her friends and watched Cooper. Hopefully everything for her won't be on Sunday the next competition.

Today we tried to use the organization of the sewing room to create some goodies for our Bride and Groom. However, we have decided that the Groom-to-be has very big feet (Cymbre says they are like Caleb!) We managed to find everything we needed in the sewing room, and even managed to put it away with minimal trouble, so that's VERY GOOD news. All my time the last three weeks is already paying off.

Cooper and Dad made a spindle for her speech tomorrow. She has to be a princess and tell her story, so she chose Sleeping Beauty, therefore, the spindle. She is using Cymbre's Princess Aurora tiara from competition at peril of her life if she breaks or loses it!

Cymbre is starting a poetry unit at school....can't wait to read all those Rhino poems!

Cymbre and I went flower shopping on Friday.....we are planting them outside, and it was time for her to get her tomato plants in the ground. While we were there, we saw the popcorn trees we used to have in Bartlesville. We fought our way through the foliage, and found the perfect popcorn tree to come home with us. (Of course, it wouldn't fit standing up in the van!) So, we stuffed it in laying down over the back seat, with the Bald Cypress tree we also bought, and I had Cymbre sit between them on the floor and hold the buckets. Now this was VERY exciting to Cymbre because she never gets to ride in the car without her seatbelt. Oh the EXCITEMENT!
She could hardly contain her self until the first turn when the buckets tried to smash her. Then she got laughing so hard she wasn't ready for the second turn, and they tried to smash her the other direction. We finally made it home after going to the school to get Cooper. Now, everything is planted, and the backyard has all the pretty flowers I like to have to look at from the kitchen window. Dad had to vacumn out the back of the van, but we had some fun buying the trees.

Can anyone believe that we have the scrapbook room and most of the sewing room all cleaned up??? I am in constant amazement! Those fisty scissors, pins, and measuring tapes have finally agreed to live peacefully together in the top sewing machine drawer! Miracles will never cease!

We are gearing up for the wedding plans. Several wedding planning books jumped off the shelf at Barnes and Nobles bookstore to come home with me. I've decided that if you read them, you quickly decide that to send money for the Bride and Groom to elope sounds like the best option overall! However, since I am the mother of the Bride, I will try to suck it up, and muddle through my drugged conscience and plan this wedding.

We all really enjoyed talking to the Groom, otherwise, known as Russell these last few days. The little girls even made up big brother rules for him. They are now anxiously waiting to see if he remembers them.

This next week will bring some confusion as I haven't quite decided how I will run two dance studios from Utah while planning a wedding... has anyone got a clue? Dad got me a hotel room, I think he doesn't think I will be getting much sleep, but may need a quite place to have my nervous breakdown! I am not good at nervous breakdowns when Dad isn't with me...where will I get a hug?

This week I think I will try to tackle some of the ironing piled up in the rocking chair. Maybe that chair needs a break, it has been holding quite a load for months now. I am testing the theories of balance and tower building...however, my tower gets much narrower at the top, and then has patches of wideness and narrowness all the way down to the bottom. Did you know that 3 of Dad's white shirts equal the same amount of space as two of my skirts? If you pull out a piece in the middle REALLY fast, you can get it without toppling the entire tower. How interesting is that? And those Christmas blouses with the snowmen on them...my goodness they can set up a ruckus when it starts to heat up outside. They were murmuring something about puddles and melting and possible floods the other day as I was walking by the rocking chair! At the first sign of moisture, I'm putting a bucket under that chair! Does anyone know how to get in touch with Noah? I may need his ark! I may need someone with turkey catching experience to get the tablecloth for Thanksgiving under control. Those turkeys already said they won't go on an ark...something about smelly rhinos. And Britni's pandas refuse to be around Cooper's Lucky Dogs. Now see why I need the ark, I think it has separate bedrooms right? Maybe I will just put Shyla's pachyderms in charge!! (I know, I'm good!) You will be able to find Dad and I on the lifeboat floating at a leisurely pace behind all the confusion and the kids. Britni better remember to bring the bamboo, or her Panda's will be quite unruly. Caleb and Holly will be in charge of Christmas, since Holly is always in season. Russ and Shyla will be in charge of the charging pachyderms, and Cooper and Cymbre can provide the entertainment. Dad and I will be out of touch! We will be eating cheese and crackers, and almonds for Dad cholesterol., and blissfully floating along. What a life! Better remember the sunscreen for Dad's bald spot!

And who really knows what lives at the bottom of the ironing pile? Has anyone seen the bottom of the pile in forever? It could be something really interesting like last year's Easter tablecloth, or maybe Mom's blouse I thought was lost, or Dad's worn out white shirt...you know the one without all the buttons. I could have a heart attack if I get to the bottom. Who would want to use a rocking chair for rocking? Isn't it better for holding ironing? If I get to the bottom and there is a family of lizards living there, I promise I will never do the ironing again! Lizards seem to love to live in stuff inside our house.

Well, enough of this foolishness for tonight...must get some things organized for my shopping trip tomorrow. First on the list is Groom stuff for our project. Then on to the grocery store to replenish my supply of expired eggs. Then to Walmart for some stuff, and then lunch before I pick up the CoopDog from school. Then homework, and meet Cymbre at the bus, and then the dance studio thing. Oh joy! We get to label the competition ribbons for each dance.

You kids who are reading this and laughing, I'm glad I could provide you with some entertainment. Remember what you heard at Conference today, and make sure you are standing on the Lord"s side of the line. Your parents expect nothing less of you. Also remember that we all love you very much, yes, each and every one of you. So does your Heavenly Father. Remember to talk to Him today.

Love,

Mom

Here We Go Again

Wednesday, March 28, 2007

Today has been an up and down day. My dumb asthma is acting up again. Those antihistamines, inhalers, and codeine about due me in. Last night I had to leave the studio with an asthma attack, and today I haven't felt myself. Oh well, on to bigger and quieter things.

The rumor mill has finally been confirmed...we are having a wedding....thank goodness! The little girls have been beside themselves waiting for Shyla to get her ring. Cooper told us if they didn't hurry up, she was going to call Russ and see what the problem was...obviously, she doesn't have to do that now. Oh the stress of it all!

I took a trip to Barnes and Nobles to buy a wedding planning book. Do you have any idea how many wedding planning books there are out there....so many I could have spent all day looking at them. I did eliminate the Buddist one though. Don't need to worry about that one. Do you
realize, you could have almost any religion, and combine it with most any tradition and come up with a wedding? For instance, maybe a buddhist wedding with a zoo theme. Can't you just see those elephants walking around. Or an Egyptian themed, Baptist one.

Anyway, I did buy a couple of books, and a Brides magazine. Cymbre is loving looking at the Brides magazine, and I got a couple of good articles to read about things to remember for a wedding.

I have decided that I need about 50,000 little helpers to get this wedding off the ground? Has anyone seen some wedding helpers running around looking for work? I'm sure I have something I need help with, like dresses, or maybe someone to wrangle those crazy straight pins back into their box so I can find them when I need to sew. And, my measuring tape decided to go on strike this week....can you believe it had a fit when I found another measuring tape in a drawer that I didn't even know was there? Talk about drama queen!! You would think that the yard stick was taking control of the entire measuring process, and that there would never be a need for a measuring tape again. AND, the scissors starting cutting up ribbons today in revolt. They don't think the ribbon should get their own drawer, the scissors want the green drawer! Give me a break! Who ever heard of scissors deciding they needed their own drawer? The tangled mess in the thread drawer was too much for me to face today...to much codeine in my system. I could never sort out five colors of orange tangled thread, and then add the black, blue and purple, and I would have to go to a rubber room, so I just closed the drawer. I think I will save that drawer for a rainy day, when I have nothing better to do....and we all know when that will be.

The pattern file is feeling a bit hungry since I got rid of a lot of patterns that I will never sew again. I mean really, who needs bell bottoms, and will I ever make my prom dress again....I think not. Dad is not into going to the prom these days. Can you just see us at the prom? I even parted with my favorite maternity dress pattern...no for your information I am not planning on ever needing it again! And Dad doesn't mind if I get rid of it either!

Cymbre and Cooper are really into making up new big brother rules, and enjoyed talking to their newest big brother on the phone tonight. Russ is a good sport, and wrote them all down, now we will see if they even remember them when he comes to visit in May. They just might, they spent all day thinking them up. All of us, yes even the Texas Mayflies, who are so abundant right now are so excited about Russ and Shyla. We just can't wait to meet him in person. Just like when Caleb brought Holly home! However, Russ does get the benefit of not having to sit through a dance competition like Holly did, but she was such a trooper!

I finally got to see the top of the dining room table today, well, not the whole top, just part of the top. All the goodie boxes and birthday boxes are mailed, so there is just a little bit of Easter stuff for the little ones left on the one end. I sat there looking at that table today, when it dawned on me that I haven't put the liquid gold stuff on it for ages. I might even get a good shine if I did it again. However, when I went to look for the Liquid Gold, I discovered a cleaning rag convention was blocking the door, so I could never get in because I didn't have my cleaner's union card. I didn't know I needed a union card, so I guess I am now on some sort of probation. I don't know, I couldn't really understand rag language. But I did understand they weren't happy when they all starting throwing themselves at me and landing on my foot. I got the definite impression they were not working for someone who was so low on the totem pole as to not have a union card. Maybe I could borrow Dad's...does anyone know if Dad has one? All I can say, you better watch out for angry cleaning rags, who knows what would happen if they get the scrubbing bubbles on their side. Maybe I can hold them back with the bleach in the spray bottle!

And I had a dilemma today, how do you kill a tiny spider who is crawling down the tile grout when your shoe is not curved enough to reach down in the grout to smash it? It might not be a dilemma to some of you, but these type of spiders can jump, and I was not in any mood to have the thing land on any place on my body...had that experience before, and take my word for it, it wasn't pleasant. Do not tell me to just use a tissue, that leaves spider guts on the tile grout, and I don't have time to scrub it. After all I have a wedding to plan. Actually, I think it was the baby of the spider that likes to live above the back door during rainstorms, and then when you open the door when the rain is over, it likes to jump down on you. Scares the grud out of the little girls all the time. So the big part of my dilemma is to get rid of this baby before it grows up and decides to sit up high somewhere and wait to jump on some poor innocent person walking below.

We are having outside pestilence issues also. It seems like the fire ants have decided that they LOVE our yard this year. Dad is now waging chemical warfare against them. I guess just mowing the tops of the hills off wasn't enough of a message to get them to move. Dad already treated the yard once, but today these yellow pellets of stuff have shown up. I don't know the score, but will count the ant hills in the morning while I wait at the bus stop. I am rooting for Dad to win, but he IS fighting about a million gazillion to one! He may have to resort to pure Diazinon like he used to do when we lived in Houston the first time....only problem there is that it kills the grass if you pour it on full strength! Does the ants in too!

Here's the news broadcast for tonight: WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE COLOR BOOKS AT OUR HOUSE! I must have found a million color books the last few days. We have Little People ones, Barney ones, Blue's Clues, and Wiggles, and those Living Scripture ones. We have circus ones, and princess ones, and animal ones, and dog ones. We have dolly ones, and zoo ones, and ninja turtle ones, and GI joe, and there's even a few pages of Transformers. I bet we have enough coloring pages to let every starving kid in Africa color one! This is really a problem when they are combined with the 10,000,000 crayons that have taken over the ENTIRE FLOOR space under Dad's desk! I had to get a bigger container. It seems that the poor blue one at the bottom was suffering terrible cramps being stuck at the bottom of the heap! Give me a break, how do crayons get cramps, they have no insides! And did you know, we had a whole nudist crayon colony living right here in our house. Just think what would happen if that news got out! Those little troublemakers just shed their clothes whenever and wherever they feel like it. And have you ever tried to dress a color crayon? Those clothes just rip, and there is no sewing them back together! Tape makes them to stiff...and staples make them a funny shape. So you just have to leave them naked!!! I sure hope the neighbors don't get wind of this situation...who knows where they might cart Dad and I off to.

Well, I feel the codeine kicking in, thank goodness, I have been coughing all day. It's enough to make you crazy!! No, I am not crazy, drunk, or passed out in the corner yet. Just give me another hour or so though.

All you kids remember who you represent on this earth, and have a great day. Talk to your Heavenly Father today....and remember that I love you.

Wandering Mind...

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Today has been a slow day, thank goodness! Running on three antihistamines and a decongestant, one has a really hard time keeping the old eyelids open. I think turtles move faster than I am today. However, in my few moments of being coherent, I have managed to accomplish just a few things.

First, the little man who lives in the computer tower at the Spring Cypress Studio got a real workout this morning as I typed name after name for the recital program. Shyla will be pleased to know I (yes Mom!) figured out how to work Excel to make a workbook that would sort the names alphabetically! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?? That poor little guy was really flexing his muscles today...he was really battling me on what I wanted to do, but I managed to get my way! And, the best part is, I almost have both studios done. That just leaves the slaves to double check the spelling of names....does anyone know a mutilingual slave who loves to proofread?

I tried another expedition to Target to finish collecting some goodies for my terribly spoiled children for Easter. Do you know that the chocolate bunnies do not like people to pick up their boxes? It seems that it messes up their little tails when people try to read the labels on the back. Well, one bunny got really bent out of shape, and threw himself off the top shelf clear to the floor. Close examination revealed that he wasn't really injured, but we had no way of telling if he has a concussion. My best advice, beware of chocolate bunnies in Easter baskets. There is no way to tell what their behavior may be like!

Jelly beans seem to be hiding from me lately also. Rumors past on from the Easter grass to the M & M's state that certain jelly beans do not want to go to college. They have heard that it is expensive, and they don't have any money saved. And besides, they want to experience life in the big candy bowl, and not in some college students stomach. All I can say is you guys must have some real bad stuff going on in your stomachs!

And did you hear about the M & M trauma? It was reported to me by the Snickers Bar that the Easter M & M's are very jealous of the everyday M & M's. It seems that the regular M & M's get more publicity all through the year, and go on more vacations, and attend more parties than the Easter M & M's. Who knew? There is a plot to sabatoge the next shipment of regular M & M's! Better stock up now!

Have you seen the Easter dinner napkins lately? There are some really scary ones out there. Buggy eyed bunnies chasing butterflies...Shyla would just shudder! I mean really, everyone knows that bunnies can't fly, so why chase the butterfly?

And just so all my kids know I have not last my mind, I can still sew a straight seam even though I am terribly over-medicated. Just check the Easter pillow cases if you don't believe me.

Dad appears to be almost super human these days. He had his first physical therapy today, which turned out to be a total waste of time and money. His body feels no pain and he has almost total usage of his knee. Who knew, Dad the super Gravity Guy! Guess we won't waste any more money on therapy. Cooper will probably take all the credit since she was in charge of his physical therapy right after his surgery. She can be a real drill sargent! Cymbre will claim it is because she did such a great job of freezing his knee, and I know it's because I was in charge of kisses!

Dance Showcase competition is next weekend. HEAVEN FORBID! Those hairnets, bobby pins, and fake eyelashes are really giving us a hard time. They don't want to ride in the make-up case this time...they want to go in a polka dot make-up bag. Maybe I'll drug them with my antihistamines! I could always give those puffed up eyelashes a haircut...that would put them in their place! But, how do you control a bobby pin? They tend to run in packs, and can stab you, or pinch when you least expect it. And if they call in reinforcements of the big long ones, they can really cut through a hairbun in nothing flat. And those hairpins...oh my gosh...have you seen them when they get all bent out of shape? Talk about arms and legs sticking out everywhere!

I have almost made it all the way around the sewing room in cleaning it up. Can you believe it? I actually have floor in there...it's quite an amazing concept. The vacumn is just elated at the prospect of slurping up all those thread scraps. However, the best meal the vacumn says are the ribbon scraps, or maybe just a bit of interfacing. It seems to spit out buttons and zipper pulls. It isn't to hopped up about all those dust bugs, and dead spider bodies I made it eat the other day. Hey, I figured it was better than the lizard I fed it not long ago! The vacumn put his beater brush down firmly yesterday and refused to eat those bent straight pins. He claims they hurt his little hose...give me a break...the thing is kinked anyway! And have you ever watched the stuff you collect in the bag part of the vacumn? My goodness, there are whole civilizations that reside in there! Who knew that lint could get along so well with beads, and that kite string tries to hug the hairball? Someone should really write a book!

Well, my codeine is making it very difficult to stay awake, and since Dad is snoring and cutting down giant redwood trees in our bedroom, I am going to sleep on the couch one more time.

All you kids reading this and laughing...I am glad to have given you a humorous break in your otherwise stressful day. Remember who you are, and that your Mom and Dad love you.

Love,

Mom
