Tinkerbell Party

October 31, 2009

The new Tinkerbell movie came out on DVD this past week, and the girls wanted to have a couple of friends over to watch it. So we turned it into a Tinkerbell party....complete with crowns, wings, and goody bags. They had pizz for dinner and the watched the movie. HOWEVER, about an hour into the movie, the power went off because of the thunderstorm. So, they just sang songs, and played games until the friends Mom and Dad came to get them. Now we will have to get together again to finish the movie....I don't think the four of them will mind a bit!

Pizza, breadsticks, and sodas for dinner dressed in Tinkerbell PJ's and wings!

Pumpkin Carving

October 31, 2009

Pumpkin guts everywhere! The girls are not trick or treating this year, but handing out the candy. They still LOVE to carve the pumpkins with Dad though!

Starting the pumpkins....Dad cuts, the girls clean!

Dad's usual face! He makes this in everything he does....one day he will bit that tongue off!

Cooper's finished pumpkin...she wants a tap shoe next year. Not very spooky though...

Tap Intensive Cymbre's Class

October 27, 2009

Here's the Shim Sham in Cymbre's class.....if you look very carefully, you can see her in the mirror at the far side of the room. She's in all black, and she's the short one. This dance is the national anthem of the Tap World.

Columbus, Ohio

October 27, 2009

These are just some of the photos from our trip to Columbus, Ohio for Tap University. The girls had a wonderful time dancing. Cooper broke yet another pair of tap shoes. Cymbre managed to do several classes even though her knee was quite sore. We all enjoyed being out of the heat and humidity of Houston! The girls are not used to seeing the trees turn colors, so we just really enjoyed driving around looking at all the leaves...sort of silly, but a treat we just don't get in Houston. Cooper found a road with her name, and Cymbre learned the Shim Sham....a traditional Tap national anthem. We saw the Columbus temple, and Caleb....it's not downtown like you told us. It's in a residential neighborhood....no tall buildings in sight. We found a Build A Bear Store in a mall, and the girls each made a bear....I made Dad one too. Some photos are here, and some will be in the next post. Enjoy!

A beautiful tree near the dance studio.

CEU's Finally Verified!

October 20, 2009

I finally have all the paperwork for 36 CEU's in a file for Dad to scan, and then zip and then email to the AAPC!!! It's taken DAYS to get it all together. Do you realize how many pieces of paper is involved. Certificates, documentation, tests, more certificates for classes....what a mess. Sure glad I try to at least keep them in one place for two years at a time....I wouldn't want to have to start looking for them and get it all organized at once. WHAT A PAIN! I understand the theory of verifying them (to make sure you do them) but it is a REAL PAIN to get all the papers together to verify them. I guess I shouldn't complain because I don't have to do it every time, but it was my turn this year. AND I want to complain about it!! Maybe I should get a coding job again to make all this CEU stuff more worthwhile instead of just doing it to keep my certification. However, I really don't want to sit that 5 hour test again! So I keep doing the CEU's.

The girls and I had a TERRIFIC time in Columbus, and I do have some photos to post, however, they are still in the camera, and I am lazy! So I'll get around to it soon. Patience!!!

I have been having fun getting together boxes and envelopes of goodies for the grandbabies....that's just about more fun than anything...except snuggling up next to DAD! Both my little babies should be getting fun stuff from Grammie and Grandpapa this week. The Aunties are claiming some of the stuff too.

We went to the funeral of Sister Meier's Dad today....it was very well done. I will call Tracy to go to lunch soon....it's been a long time coming for her. I enjoyed having Dad home for the day, and we even went to lunch at Panera Bread all by ourselves....can you believe Lunch with DAD???

I'm still working on costumes, however, it's sort of hard to get to excited knowing that I will be leaving anytime now to go snuggle Baby Boo! Hurry up baby! I've got to finish getting my Grammie stuff in order so I can pack and leave quickly when we finally get a call from Shyla!

Tomorrow, I am GOING TO SEW if it kills me....just have a hat to make for Cymbre's tap costume, and make slits in Cooper's Jazz and then they are DONE!!!! YEA!!!! Maybe I can try to cut some PJ pants for those who have sent measurements...those who haven't....better hurry up....or you will be out of luck by the end of this week. We'll see how far I get. No promises.

Well, must go get some snacks and drinks ready for Dad to take to pick up the girls from dance. They seem to ALWAYS be hungry when they leave that place....

Do a kind deed for someone today....it will make your day go better.

Love you
Mom

Westher!

October 13, 2009

Weather changes make for VERY SORE toes! Fingers already are sore! Some day I just can't win...today is one of them.
Guess I'm off the hook for PJ's, nobody has sent measurements.....last chance.

Boo's Special Grammie Project Is Half Done!

October 6, 2009

Half my Grammie Special Boo Project is done....no I am not telling...it's a surprise. Hopefully, the other half can get done tomorrow if my hands recover from today.

Went downtown and found the last of the costume parts for Cymbre's tap....just jewelry from Harwin street left. Maybe I'll do some Christmas shopping down there when I get home from loving the new grandbaby....when she decides to make her appearance!

The girls and I go to Ohio for tap dancing this weekend...back on Monday. They should have a great time.

The girls are back in school from being sick...thank goodness for medicine that makes them better. I am just plugging along on costumes, and trying to get some Christmas things done. Not having a lot of luck though.

Those of you who want PJ pants for Christmas....if there is any hope at all, I HAVE TO HAVE measurements NOW! I'm still not making any promises, but without measurements...they won't happen! I need waist and inseam...of EVERYBODY! Email me, facebook me...just get them here. You have to be a member of my immediate family to qualify for pj's. Remember that Grammie's get sidetracked by Grandbabies VERY EASILY!

Well, I am going to take my codeine sleepy self, shower, and make school lunches and go to bed. Dad is off getting the dancers, and then they have to finish up a couple of homework things and then they will be in beddy bye land too....then it's snuggle up right up next to Dad (I think he really likes it, though he might claim otherwise....and SLEEP!)

Give that Grandbaby a big hug from Grammie and Grandpa and the Aunties.....kisses too.

Remember to put that name back on the prayer roll for your sister.

Love you.
Mom
