Back To The Grind!

May 25, 2009

Well, in the morning it is back to the old school grind! By this time every year, I am so tired of the school routine. I just want to call it quits, and besides, the kids are doing anything all that great at school anyway.
Some of the finals are already taken, and Cooper is taking her coloring book to school everyday now. I think in 8th grade, they should keep the kids busier than letting them color all day. I guess I am just old fashioned.....what happened to learning up until the last day when you got to just party. Now the partying starts two weeks before the last day.
My closet is FINALLY FINISHED! It took a week, but I didn't work all day everyday. Now I can finally rotate the food in the emergency kit, and find something in my closet. I found a pile of photos that haven't been labeled, so I am hoping that Dad's memory is better than mine. If not, they will just be the mystery vacation photos.
Cymbre sees the knee surgeon on Wednesday this week. She is still in quite a bit of pain, so we will see what he says. It's been at least 7-8 weeks of not much activity, so he's got to do something for her. Probably MRI, here we come.
Cooper is getting over her neck sprain...what a pain that was for her. She couldn't hardly bend her neck for days. Muscle relaxers and heat helped a bit, but time was the biggest help. No dance kept her home, but she is managing to dance now. Thank goodness, Mary Poppins wouldn't be much without Bert!
Cooper's black pointe shoes are here, and so is her chimney sweep broom....that was hard to find. Dad is painting it black so it will show up more....it came silver.
We went to the outlet mall they have built for the first time today. Ms. Christine took us, and we had a wonderful time with her. She doesn't have any girly girls to go shopping with, and they have all the best stores (Aeropostle, Juicy Coutoure ?, Tommy Hilfiger, Carter's) and of course we stopped at all of them. Cooper has been saving her money for months for a Juicy Coutoure purse, and she found what she wanted today. We also got some Aeropostle jeans for $5.99, and t-shirts for $10. At Carter's we got some baby things for $3-5....not bad I say. Cymbre also bought some things with her money....a Aeropostle sweatshirt, and some stuff at Tommy Hilfiger. I bought myself an outfit at Coldwater Creek, which is an event for me....I never buy a whole outfit. It's a skirt and sweater for church. Christine had some VIP coupons she let us use which gave us %'s off, which made some really good deals. I came home and signed up for the VIP coupons since I assume I will be back out there at Aeropostle for school shopping.
We have registered the girls to go to Hall of Fame National Dance Competition in Chicago the end of June. We will see what happens with Cymbre, and we may have to ask for some money back based on the Dr.. However, Cooper has been invited to dance in the opening number, and that's a big deal. They only invite those they give scholarships to. However, if Cymbre can dance, they will let her dance too since her sibling is coming....I guess they don't make them just sit there without dancing. That's nice I think. We will be going all on our own with no one from the studio. It will be nice I think. I can just get the music turned in, and pick up the scores, and there won't be any drama...a new thing for us recently. Andee is so proud the girls qualified to take their dances.
I did some ironing tonight, and now my back is telling me...guess it thinks I am to dumb to know....oh well, there's always my numbing patch!
I am determined to get some things caught up around here, and organized, and stuff we aren't using gone. After working for 5 years, there's a lot to get caught up on.
This week I have to finish getting Bert's costumes together, and if Cymbre can dance, I have to make her two dresses. And I have to finish up my CEU's for my coding certification. They are due in September, and I don't like to wait until the last minute to do them.
Britni is working on updating her resume, and Dad is helping....we need to get it mailed out to some people if she wants to leave Tulsa this summer. We are hoping that she won't have to many problems getting a job since she has her LPN license already. Everyone say your prayers for her to find something. It will be a job to get her moved somewhere though.
The girls both have awards ceremonies at school in the next week or so, and both are getting awards. Cymbre's are at the Middle School, so that will be her first look around for next year. She's been there with Cooper, but going on her own is a totally different story for her.
Dad and I finally get to graduate from 5th grade this year....after 29 years of kids! Either we are a bit slow, or we've just got to many kids! No more elementary school programs, parties, volunteering, boring meetings, etc. We think we just might have to celebrate, by going to Middle School! At least we aren't the oldest parents in the meetings there....some people actually have older parents than our girls. Can you imagine? The horror of it all!
I guess that's about all the big news around here for tonight. I guess I will go lay on the couch under the ceiling fan and watch TV for a little bit before I go to bed. Dad is already in there...snoring!
Everyone have a good week....give each other hugs for Dad and I, and remember do to something nice for someone who doesn't know you.
Love you.
